your 2024 MINDSET

your 2024 MINDSET

As we stand on the cusp of 2024, collectively, I'm prompted to share my personal reflections on the transformative journey of the past year (see Journal). In the spirit of my own experiences, I invite you to explore a reflective worksheet tailored to guide us through the highs and lows of the year behind us. This tool is not just a means to acknowledge personal achievements and challenges but also a practical guide for setting clear intentions and goals for the upcoming year, 2024. Let's navigate these reflections together and enter the new year with a renewed sense of purpose and direction. Access the worksheet bellow and here's to a year of personal and shared growth. Happy New Year!

Make your vision a reality - you can do it!

Make your vision a reality - you can do it!

In my latest blog post, I delve deeper into the topic of goal setting after discussing stress reduction and burnout prevention. It is essential to know our desires and aspirations, asking ourselves who we want to be, how we want to feel, and what we aim to achieve in life. Drawing from my own experiences, I emphasize the significance of setting clear goals. Without them, motivation, determination, and, ultimately, success become elusive. I've also come to understand the power of personal responsibility, realizing that I am in control of my life decisions, which can be both empowering and liberating. I encourage you to consider the motive behind your dreams and aspirations, ensuring they align with your true self. To aid you in your goal-setting journey, I provide a practical template and suggest the use of a vision board, a visual representation of your aspirations. By keeping your goals in sight, you'll stay organized and focused and ultimately experience greater happiness. Remember, taking the first step towards achieving your aspirations is key to initiating positive change in your life.

Take good care of yourself! :)

In my latest article, I wanted to share my own experiences with stress and burnout and how I manage to overcome them. Through my personal journey, I have learned the importance of taking breaks and prioritizing my mental health. To help others determine their current mental state, I have provided a "Give Me a Break" checklist. Additionally, I offer practical tips such as identifying the root cause of stress, practicing self-awareness, compartmentalizing emotions, prioritizing consistent sleep and exercise, taking time off, and seeking support from loved ones. By sharing my story and offering (hopefully) helpful advice, I hope to encourage others to prioritize their own well-being and find healthy ways to manage stress.

Student Portfolio - get to know your student!

Wheeeew - teaching is challenging, but can also be an incredibly rewarding job. My teaching philosophy is to really get to know my student and then apply my teaching methods and approaches to their specific personalities. With the help of this template I have created and the questions below, you can now document what you know, observe and reflect on the process throughout the year and keep better track of your student's unique details.

Some of my suggestions/questions:

  • What character traits are predominant, and how can I apply this knowledge to motivate the student? What kind of approach wouldn’t work?

  • Is there something I noticed a student needs or is especially important to them? Do I notice a specific insecurity?

  • What do they do in their free time? Hobbies? Activities? Energy levels?

  • How involved is the family? How many siblings do they have? Are the parents interested in music or have any experience? (this is especially useful to know in order to assess to what extent the concept of music and practice must be explained)

  • Why did they choose this instrument? What are their expectations in learning the instrument?

  • Favorite color/musician/songs/etc.
